New Cover for North Star

Anne Cain worked more magic and created a cover for this whole series. Hugo Thorson was never accepted in his small town, and living with a sick father pushed him farther away from his peers. When Kevin Magnus moved to town, he knew what path his life would take. Until he befriended Hugo. What started out as hikes in the wood, where both teens opened up about struggles at home, soon turned into comforting touches, kisses, and more. They hid the true nature of their relationship from their friends and family, but they fell in love. And they fell hard. Their last day together, rain interrupted their kisses. If Hugo had known…

Disappearing Amazon Book Reviews

In an effort to purge bought and fake reviews, Amazon has recently started deleting many reviews that aren’t Verified Purchases. Apparently companies paid people for reviews of various products, shelling out $5 a review, so people sat at their computers reviewing products and books they never touched let alone knew well enough to review. Some of the reviews were very obviously fake (fifty 5 star review with no critical reviews at all), but others weren’t. It put Amazon on alert, and boy did they go on alert! Sending out Advance Reading Copies (ARCs) is a publishing industry standard used to help create buzz around the release day of a book. If a…

So, This Happened Today

Farm Fresh was recommended in the “Happily Ever After” section of USA Today in the Love and Lust Recs. I’m going to look and smile and dance for the rest of the day! If you haven’t picked Farm Fresh up yet, what are you waiting for? I know this isn’t a story for everyone, but it might open your mind and stick with you for days or weeks. That’s what I’m known for, books that stick; or at least that’s what readers have told me. My books make you think. Jude Garrity visits the farmers market every Saturday. As an environmental engineering student, he’s curious about living off the grid and…

Put Down Roots. You’re Home!

Farm Fresh has arrived. Amazon [youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hjOv7xF5BFg] So what have people been saying about the book?

Curiosity at the Farmers Market

Jude is a curious environmental engineering student fascinated by the man he knows as Farmers Market Hudson. He’s curious about the commune and living off the grid, he just didn’t realize Kaleidoscope Gardens’ slogan had a deeper meaning. “Kaleidoscope Gardens is a place where we celebrate our sexuality by practicing sex out in the open.” “Sex? In the open?” Jude’s eyes grew comically wide, but someone stepped up to the table, so the conversation had to be momentarily put on hold. Jude stood off to the side and sorted through his basket of reserved items while Hudson helped fill a woman’s canvas bag with her carefully chosen produce. Then a…

Clean Laundry

Here’s a little excerpt from Farm Fresh, Chapter 9. Hudson is showing Jude how to do his laundry with the commune’s hand washer. It gets steamy fast while getting clean in the spring house. “I’m gonna start agitating your clothes,” Jude said as he took the empty basket back into the springhouse. Hudson pinned the last pair of tiny briefs to the line, took several deep breaths, and went back to being tortured by this innocent kid’s blinding sexual appeal. “Here,” Hudson said, peeling his now-sweaty shirt from his back and dropping it in the basin to join the rest of his clothes. “Hot work.” Jude nodded. It was too much for…

Revised Cover for Bent Arrow

Last summer I was trying to save cash and decided to try my hand at creating a cover for my book Bent Arrow. I used really rudimentary, but helpful, software found online. But when I went to create the paperback cover, I realized I hadn’t left enough room to allow for the bleed, so I hated my paperbacks! In the months since, I’ve learned how to do a lot on Gimp, the photo editing software for the poor. It’s free! And it’s quite similar to PhotoShop, which I learned how to use in 2005. I still have PhotoShop on my old PC, which no longer works, and in 2007 moved over…

Farm Fresh – Cover Reveal

So it has happened. Farm Fresh has a cover! It also has a home on Amazon, with pre-orders links and will soon be available in paperback. Let’s celebrate! Jude Garrity visits the farmers market every Saturday. As an environmental engineering student, he’s curious about living off the grid and sustainable agriculture. And one particular farmer. Hudson Oliva has worked hard to support his commune, where queer people live without fear of harm or retribution. When Jude asks pointed questions about living there, Hudson realizes he needs to be honest about his home. Few people know what the farm is actually about, but Jude is insistent. Jude moves to Kaleidoscope Gardens,…

Awards & Nominations – Silver Scars

Writing Silver Scars was a labor of love for me. To see it celebrated makes life all the sweeter. #thankyou

Silver Scars—2015 Rainbow Awards Honorable Mention

Silver Scars was awarded with an 2015 Rainbow Award Honorable mention! Yay! Click through to read! Source: reviews_and_ramblings | 2015 Rainbow Awards Honorable Mention: Silver Scars by Posy Roberts A bomb destroyed high-powered lawyer Gil Lemieux’s seemingly perfect life, and PTSD has ruled every decision since the explosion that left him scarred inside and outside. Moving home with his mom is meant to be a temporary measure, just like proofreading for a medical editorial firm is meant to be a stopgap. But two years after taking on the wrong court case, he’s still living in fear. Keith Kramer might be based 1,500 miles away from Gil, but their shared work…
