After Ben by Con Riley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Is it possible to love again after the love of your life has died? It’s possible, but it’s not so easy to let go of the past and move beyond the guilt of loving someone new. Theo has lived his life through the scrim of grief since Ben died, but slowly, every slowly, that scrim is being lifted and Theo is able to start living again. But it’s not without it’s trials and struggles. Peter and Morgan, as well as a few others are there to help him along the way.
I love the gently unfolding story telling style of Con Riley. She is able to capture very strong characters that we are allowed to really get to know and fall in love with. We get to meet several characters in this book beyond the main characters and even the secondary characters captured my imagination. You can tell Con has a backstory for all of them, which is great for a reader like me who is characters driven. I love falling for characters and I most certainly did in this book. This is the first in her Seattle Stories series and I can’t wait to read the other books, as well.
